My friend Nancy Dong was off to a trade-show for her new eco-friendly shoes - she needed a Postcard as quickly as she could. I was at SXSW, so my availability was narrow — but she already had some ideas and some usable photos that I threw into Photoshop and had my way with them.
This project turned out really nice considering the timeline, but it also helps to have a client who already knows what they like!
I’ve finished my registration for SXSWi last night - Talk about last minute — I’ve never been so it’s gonna be pretty exciting. Looking forward to meeting as many people as possible while I’m there. We’re going to be talking to developers and product managers about our new, yet to be release customer feedback tool, UserVoice - More on that soon!
See you next week!
Official Announcement - I have accepted an invitation to assist in the formation of a Start-Up called UserVoice.com - a customer feedback utility built for facilitating ideas, suggestions and focus groups.
My old friend Richard White has a solid track-record of putting together great products - see kiko & SlimTimer and my new friend, Lance Ivy delivered a development solution for Ruby on Rails called Active Scaffold.
Rich & I are headed out to Austin for SXSW to pitch the product and make connections. Will report more when we get back.
My friend Marti & her husband recently bought a business in town and wanted to freshen up the image of the logo. They had no images from the original logo from which to manipulate, so I ended up taking a photo of a wall with a vinyl sticker applied.
From there I sliced it up with Illustrator & then added the final touches with Photoshop. I think it came out rather well - see website >>
This is officially my first Church Website. It’s a different kind of church, which is interesting on it’s own - but it’s also the church where my brother works.
The needs of the site were fairly straight forward, clean yet modern design, community blog, and a podcast. We also built in a calendar system, product page (using cafepress.com) and a newsletter tool - so this should streamline some of their weekly use cases and help to build their local community!
New Business Identity

A friend of mine recently introduced me to the world of eco-high fashion. I guess I had not been paying much attention before, but there’s an entire niche market out there for environmentally-friendly designer clothing.
In any case, I was asked to create business identity for a client who specializes in footwear - Business Cards, Brochure and she even had me write up her bio & marketing pieces. That’s probably some of the most tedious work, but also most rewarding. Keep an eye out for Kailia Footwear - I think you’re going to see her shoes on a lot of interesting people… ![]()
Wausau Montessori Charter School

As the proud parent of two Montessori students within the Wausau School District Charter School, I decided to attend a parent’s meeting or two - just to stay in touch with what my children were up.
Well, before you knew it - they needed a website to keep everyone informed. And just who do we know that could help us out with designing a website? Hmm… I had to think.
The site is a work in progress, and parent’s are making suggestion as to what they’d like to see, so don’t be surprised if you see a lot of different changes in the near future.
Happy to Launch - belowthewaist.org

This project has been in the works for some time. Family Planning Health Services of Wausau approached me with an idea to build a website. Their main goal was to network with like minded organizations and individuals in a way that would illicit dialogue and pass along information.
Additionally, the site would serve as a home to a brand new podcast aimed at informing their target audience. It’s all very new still, but having the opportunity to work with some of my favorite people while building it was a priceless opportunity - so thank you to Andy Laub, William Lawrence & Dino Corvino for collaborating to build a great Wausau web design. << visit the website
Attention Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Estate.

Over Thanksgiving vacation I was introduced to a gentleman from Pasadena. He needed design work for a website of his that specialized in Tax assistance to foreign investors.
In the course of consulting with the client, it seemed there was much more than just a redesign. We needed a quick design and in depth search engine optimization. This is stage one.
In a couple of months we’ll move to stage two, but for now, the design is in place, the SEO has been initiated - now it’s time to fill it with content. It’s always a pleasure helping clients take there business to the next level! << Visit Firpta.com
